The Quarry
The other day Sam, Reena, Chris and I decided to spend the afternoon taking pictures at the quarry. (This is one of my favorite places in Chiang Mai because the colors are so stunning - perfect for photos - and I had been wanting to go since I got back)
Since it was already 3 o'clock when we left, we stopped at a small market to get some mu-ping (pork on a stick) and oishi (green-tea) for lunch. At the meat stall there was a huge pile (literally twenty pieces) of steaming, freshly grilled pork. We were all pretty hungry and Sam, on the brink of starvation said, "I want it all." Laughing, we joked about buying all that meat. We decided how much we wanted (after Sam admitted that she didn't actually want ALL the pork) and ordered. However, we did the math wrong (math is hard, ok) and accidentally ordered twenty pieces of pork. Yep, we actually ordered that entire pile of meat.
While we took photos Chris sat back and enjoyed the view and the feast we had bought (in case you are wondering, no, even with our best efforts we didn't finish all the food)
These two have the most beautiful smiles. I loved capturing their candid moments.
Reena, who is a photographer in Chicago (check out her blog) is helping me get better at my photography. While she got some great photos of Sam I hung around in the background asking questions and learning from her experience. She has been a great help in getting this blog started and I am so thankful for the time I get to spend with both her and Chris.
